Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents accurately and efficiently.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
- Monitor inventory levels and perform regular stock reconciliations.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Provide support and guidance to other departments regarding financial procedures and policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience in the retail industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Strong understanding of UAE financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Filipino is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with VAT compliance and reporting in the UAE.
- Familiarity with retail-specific financial processes and challenges.
